Banish Spider Veins on Your Face And Legs

Many of us have developed fine spider veins or broken capillaries on our face and body over the years as the valves in the veins weaken. These veins contribute to redness and skin discoloration, which detracts from your natural beauty. We develop a personalized plan to treat your facial veins specifically or as part of a comprehensive facial rejuvenation plan. Our experience and the treatments we use lead to outstanding results.

At Sylvana, we use Cutera CoolGlide laser therapy to treat small facial veins or broken capillaries, spider veins on the face and legs and blue leg veins. The laser delivers pulses of light directly to your problem areas. CoolGlide is noninvasive with minimal side effects and delivers significant improvement in a short period of time.

Finally Show Off Those Legs After Your Cutera CoolGlide Or Asclera Sclerotherapy Treatments

You may suffer from both spider veins and those larger blue (reticular) veins on your legs filling you with dread when warm weather returns. Veins can develop or deepen during pregnancy, when extra weight or prolonged sitting puts pressure on your veins, pregnancy or genetics. Now you can embrace the summer months by banishing those veins.

Who Benefits?

Men and women of all skin types and color benefit from our vein treatments at Sylvana Med Spa. Women are two or three times more likely to develop spider and reticular veins. If you are self conscious about your unsightly facial and leg veins you do not need to suffer anymore! Whether you desire a full face and leg treatment or treatment on a specific area we treat all veins with the exception of varicose veins. Varicose veins should be treated by a vascular surgeon.

What Can I Expect From My Cutera CoolGlide Treatment?
How Do I Prepare?

Generally, no preparation is required before your CoolGlide treatment although some patients choose to have a topical anesthetic applied beforehand.

What Can I Expect From The Procedure?

Cutera CoolGlide is a laser treatment that requires no needles and is noninvasive. You can expect a light stinging sensation when the laser is delivered but no pain medication is necessary.

What Is The Aftercare Treatment And Recovery?

After your CoolGlide treatment, you will experience very minimal to no pain. If you have had deep veins treated on your legs you may have to wear support hose for a short time. Because CoolGlide is noninvasive there is no real downtime. Immediately following your treatment you may resume every day activities although you should avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours.

What Are The Side Effects?

You may experience some redness or minimal bruising for about 24 hours following your procedure. Blistering can occur, but rarely. A tan pigment may be visible on larger veins for a few weeks or months following treatment.

Our patients typically only need one to two treatments to get great results. If you have extremely large, dark veins or a high number of veins to treat it could take more sessions. Significant improvement is noticeable between two to six weeks after treatment although final results may not be obvious for several months. Some new veins may appear, but can be removed with Cutera CoolGlide treatments as they develop.

What Can I Expect From My Asclera Sclerotherapy Treatment?
How Do I Prepare?

Before your procedure you should not apply lotion on your legs. We also recommend that you avoid anti-inflammatory drugs for two to three days before Sclerotherapy. Tylenol will not affect the procedure.

What Can I Expect From The Procedure?

Sclerotherapy uses a fine needle to insert a solution directly into the vein in a series of small injections. Our patients note mild to moderate discomfort and cramping for one to two minutes, especially when larger veins are injected. The procedure itself takes 15 to 30 minutes. After the treatment we apply compression with a stocking or bandage and have you walk for 15 to 20 minutes. We do this to monitor you for any potential allergic reactions.

What Is The Aftercare Treatment And Recovery?

Walking is encouraged and you can resume everyday activities immediately apart from exercising for a few days after. You will be advised to wear support hosiery for a short period of time to compress the treated veins.

You should also avoid the following for 48 hours after treatment:

  • Any anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin (Tylenol can be used if necessary)

  • Hot baths

  • Hot compresses

  • Hot tubs or saunas

  • Direct exposure to sun

You make take showers but water should be cool.

What Are The Side Effects?

The common side effects of Sclerotherapy are very mild. Itching and redness or raised areas on the points of injection can last one to two days after the procedure. Bruising may also occur on the treated areas and can last a few days or weeks. Very rarely there are more severe side effects. Learn more about Asclera Sclerotherapy.

In general, spider veins respond in three to six weeks, and larger veins respond in three to four months. If your veins respond to the treatment they will not reappear! As many as 50% to 80% of your treated veins can be eliminated during a single Sclerotherapy treatment. 90% of people treated have a positive response to Sclerotherapy.
