Smooth the Lines That Make You Look Tired or Worried

You smile, you laugh, and sometimes you worry or frown. It’s all part of life, but over time you’ll find that these emotional expressions leave lines and wrinkles that can make you seem tired, stressed, or angry—even when you’re not.  If you are concerned about how lines in your forehead, furrows between your eyes or crows feet make you look—here is a solution!

Botox, Dysport and Xeomin Relax the Muscles That
Cause Worry Lines, Forehead Wrinkles and Crow’s Feet

Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are all neuromodulators and they use naturally occurring bacteria to relax the muscles of the face. That relaxing effect minimizes and softens wrinkles, worry lines and other signs of aging—particularly in the brow and eye area. Using neuromodulators to soften wrinkles and lines has been the gold standard, non-surgical solution for over a decade. Sylvana Med Spa in Frederick, MD is recognized as a leading provider of neuromodulator injections in the Frederick County region. We were also the first in the area to introduce Xeomin and we are known for our experience, artistry and natural-looking results.

"So much better than where I got Botox before—no pain, helpful staff, really natural-looking results."  Julie A. • Hagerstown, MD

What is the Process Like?

Using a tiny needle, we inject Botox Dysport or Xeomin directly into the muscle to be relaxed.  Our goal is a natural look, so we place the injections in a composed way that reflects the unique pattern of your facial expressions and focuses on the specific lines and wrinkles you want to smooth out.

Before You Consider Getting Botox Anyplace Else.....
At Sylvana Med Spa, all of our Certified Aesthetic Consultants bring extensive experience, training and artistry to using Botox, Dysport and Xeomin. Here's why this is important:  when neuromodulatores are applied with a heavy hand or by someone without significant training or experience, the result can be an unsatisfying "frozen" look.
At Sylvana Med Spa, you will benefit from our medical aesthetics training, professional experience, deep understanding of the science of skin and dedication to providing you with a wonderful experience. That experience begins with a Complimentary Consultation where we listen to your concerns and perform a scientific evaluation of your skin using the Visia Complexion Analysis System. To complete your consultation, we make recommendations in the form of your unique Sylvana Solutions Treatment Plan—a roadmap for achieving and maintaining the results you want.
Why Do We Offer All Three—Botox, Dysport and Xeomin?

All three neuromodulators work in the same way, only the manufacturers are different. All three are FDA-approved. Many consider them to be interchangeable and only carry one or two. We carry all three in order to ensure the best value and maximum results to every one of our patients. If there is a special offer on one—alone or in combination with other products—we alert clients to that option. That’s the value part. For a small number of people, one neuromodulator is slightly more effective or long-lasting than another. In such a case, we will recommend the most effective product.

What Can I Expect?

A Botox, Dysport or Xeomin treatment usually requires only a quick office visit. We use a tiny needle to inject the neuromodulator directly into the muscles of the areas of concern identified in your customized Sylvana Solutions Treatment Plan. Most clients experience little or no bruising and no social downtime.

How Soon Will I See Results?
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin begin to work in about three days and the wrinkle-smoothing response approaches maximum results in about two weeks. Many clients see continued smoothing up to 30 days. When you return for your complimentary two-week follow-up visit, we expect to see significant smoothing. At that time, we can supplement any areas that will benefit from additional injections.
Which Treatment Is Right For Me?

We explore all of your options when you come in for your Complimentary Consultation. For most clients, we use Botox, Dysport or Xeomin for wrinkle-smoothing in the brow or eye area. In some cases, we use one of these neuromodulators in the lower face to soften vertical lip lines, to soften wrinkles in the neck or to decrease nasal flaring. Botox is also proven effective in suppressing overactive sweat glands.

How Long Do The Benefits Of Botox Last?

For most clients, visible results generally last from three to four months. For many clients, benefits accrue over time. That means they may need fewer injections to get optimum wrinkle-smoothing results. As with all non-surgical procedures, a regular schedule of appointments can maintain and often increase the visible benefits of treatment. In general, three annual appointments maximizes and maintains the benefits of neuromodulator injections.

Of course, following all the principles of a personalized skin care routine will keep your skin at its healthiest and make you look your best. That includes drinking plenty of water throughout the day, applying sunscreen 365 days a year, and using medical-grade skin care products. As part of your initial Complimentary Consultation, we create a Sylvana Solutions Treatment Plan that is unique to you. It provides a road-map for addressing your specific concerns and helping you gain and maintain maximum benefits.

Does It Hurt?

Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. We offer complimentary ice packs following the injections and recommend the Regenica Recovery Gel, or a homeopathic medicine that can help minimize bruising and swelling. A small group of first-time patients may notice a mild headache the first evening after the treatment. Minor complications occur occasionally, but they do not affect a successful outcome. Major complications are rare.

Botox Hyperhidrosis Treatment for Excessive Sweating

We now offer Botox for Hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating). This FDA approved medical treatment can stop excessive sweating for up to 9 months with one simple injection.

What is Hyperhydrosis?

Hyperhidrosis, also known as polyhidrosis or sudorrhea means excessive sweating; sweating too much. Hidrosis means sweating, while hyper means too much, or excessively. The excessive sweating may be either localized in specific parts of the body, or generalized (everywhere). Most commonly, Hyperhidrosis affects your underarms, as that is where it is most noticeable.

The Treatment:
Though Botox is mostly used to reduce wrinkles on the face, it was also FDA approved to be used therapeutically to help reduce excessive sweating under your arms. This treatment typically requires 100 units (50 units for each arm) but that can vary. It is a very simple and relatively painless procedure. We do everything we can to make all of our treatments comfortable for our patients.

How Long Does It Last?
Unlike facial Botox treatments that last up to about 3 to 4 months, Botox for Hyperhidrosis treatments can last anywhere from 6 to 9 months!
